This medication is the first-line treatment for increased pressure in the eye due to eye conditions such as glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
Generic Alphagan eye drop functions by promoting better fluid drainage from the eye and reducing the formation of fluid in the eye.
Untreated increased eye pressure can cause serious consequences, including nerve damage, blindness, and vision loss.
It shouldn’t be used in children younger than 2 years old due to the expanded risk of serious side effects, such as shallow breathing.

Before you take brimonidine eye drops for glaucoma inform your doctor about all medical history and the medications you have been taking. Also, inform your healthcare provider about all your allergies or if you are allergic to this medicine in general.
Before going for eye surgery, contact your doctor if you can continue taking this medicine or not.
When you first start taking glaucoma eye drops, it may blur your eyesight for some time. So, it is recommended to not do any task that requires full concertation and attention.
It is not recommended to apply this medication if you are wearing contact lenses. Take off your contact lenses and then apply this eye drop. Wait for 15 minutes and then wear your contact lenses.
If you are pregnant, use this medicine only when needed with the consultation of your doctor. Or, if you are breast-feeding, contact your doctor and then continue doing so.

To apply;
Tilt your head back and squeeze out a pee size amount of drop into your eye with the help of your dropper.
Close your eyes for a minute and make sure the liquid does not glide out from your eye.
Store at room temperature away from heat, light, and moisture.
